My Organic Planet - (Win Free Stuff)
Have you “gone organic”? Have you joined the movement? There is sooo much information out there and sooo little time to read it all. It is overwhelming really. Organic clothing, food, skin care products, cleaning products. I would love to fully research every product in an effort to keep myself, my family and our planet healthy - I just sometimes always seem to run out of time
My solution: do what you can when you can. As far as I am concerned every little bit helps.
Here is my “little bit” for today. Organic skin care products. From what I know many of the lotions, cosmetics and deodorants we use daily contain chemicals that are easily absorbed through our skin. Our skin is a living, breathing organ and since everything is absorbed through our skin it should be gentle and non-toxic.
I use Gaia Natural Baby for my DD (that’s dear daughter, or diaper diva, depends of the day).
One of the things that most surprised me about this product is how little is needed to “lather up”. Compared with other brands of products with are less expensive but also contain many chemicals I find the cost isn’t actually greater to use this organic product - you only require a small amount.
I want you to try out the GAIA naturals product too!
Leave a comment to this post and you will be entered to WIN a package containing Baby Shampoo, Baby Wash and Baby Moisturizer (each bottle is 50ml).
Leave a comment about how you feel about organic products. Are into organics, not into organics? Or just say HI

September 16th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
outside the obvious benefit to the environment, it makes me more comfortable that I am protecting my grandchild from absorbed toxins. look at the pba thing - no one ever thought a plastic baby bottle could pose a health risk.

We are trying to switch to organic products as we run out of things, we can’t really afford to just go and replace everything with all organic. I love organic products though, and I am glad I have gotten all of my other family members on the wagon as well. Thanks to free samples and giveaways, etc.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant I started an organic ‘frenzy’! I started eating organic whenever I could, and I try to only wear organic clothing on my little guy. I would love to be entered to try the GAIA products if I’m eligible (I’m from Canada), thank you!

GAIA makes great baby products!

I love using organic products when we can. The only downside is that they are a little more expensive but for some things it is worth it! I especially feel lit’s important for my daughter - I like her products to be organic!
September 18th, 2008 at 10:45 am
I don’t really buy into the organic thing, per se, but do agree with the whole locally grown thing.
September 18th, 2008 at 11:07 am
I have to admit, I’ve never used organic shampoo, or baby products before. We buy organic fruit and milk, so this would be a great time to start using this too. Thanks for the great giveaway!

It actually really frustrates me when people say its too difficult to recycle or be organic.. but then are super protective of their kids.. dont they realize that the best protection you can offer is taking care of the world for your kids to grow up in!

I feel good about using organic products because they are good for us and help our planet.
I am using more and more organic products all the time.
It has been a slow process but I am getting there.
Thank you!

I am into organics, as long as I know that the decision of what ingredients to use is based not just on the idea that organic=good, but that there are good organic products, and bad ones, and we need to use science to determine which is which!

The moisturizer looks especially nice. I used to love putting moisturizer on my DD, but eventually quit because it was J&J and I didn’t want the parabens.

I am definitely into organic skin and body products for the baby. Especially since mine has a peanut allergy, I’m extra careful what goes on his skin.

Hello, Thanks so much for the fun giveaway drawing!
Yes, I like 100% organic clothing, body products and some groceries. I do think we are still at the stage where we need to be careful about what is called “organic!” Please enter me in your delightful drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

Sandy - I’m not sure where you are at but usually the health food stores carry the organic deodarant…some drug stores are starting to carry it too!
Rebecca C - I am doing the same replacing as needed.
Susan - I love the GAIA massage oil for my DD too.
Kellie - they are more expensive, this is why I am impressed with GAIA though, you need to use less…so really it all works out.
Ann - Organic Milk is a favorite for me. It tastes sooo much better
Jenny - agreed on the parabens.

I am into organic skin care. Parabens worry me, so I generally use goat’s milk soap on my daughter
Thanks!

It is nice to want to keep your baby’s skin soft and care what goes on their skin
