Congratulations to Suzanne B (Crunchy Green Mom) - winner of Sockons
One little kick and its gone. Baby’s sock that is. So annoying.
Well the problem has been solved and the solution has made its way to North America, via The Baby Marketplace.
sockons, the clever little things that keep socks on! The sockons are worn over socks to ‘lock’ them into place.
So tell me, what annoying problems have you encountered with respect to babies and toddlers, gidgets and gadgets? Leave a comment and you will be entered to win your own pair of sockons.
Contest closes January 20th, 2009.

I find that it’s hard to keep the baby from dropping the pacifier. I would love to find something like a wristlet so it stays put.

I can’t find bibs that don’t get drooled through in five minutes!

An annoying problem is trying not to wake your baby to change their diaper (because you don’t want them to sleep with a dirty diaper) with those velcro straps.

My son will NEVER keep his socks on! and he loves to throw his sippy cup over the side of the high chair. I think he likes to watch me fetch it!
January 6th, 2009 at 7:36 pm
When kids throw things off their highchair, stroller, etc!

My daughter has very curly hair, and I hate that when she wakes up in the morning it’s all matted in the back where it hits the pillow.
January 6th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
I find that even with a bib, the food seems to land on the clothes.
January 6th, 2009 at 8:54 pm
Cheap sippy cups that leak everywhere!
January 6th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
I can’t find a sippy cup that either my kids can’t drink from or they leak everywhere.

the pacifier and anything that gets in the hands- bottles- sippy cups food

I would love to find something that can keep the burp cloth attached on my shoulder the right way without damaging my clothes or poking my baby. Is that asking for too much?? Every time he drools he also keeps shaking his head so violently that the cloth invariably falls down and my dress is ruined.
Oh and the sock problem problem is a huge one at our household. He is 4 months old now and has learnt to remove his socks with the other foot and also his hands!
January 7th, 2009 at 10:01 am
Then burpcloth is an issue. Maybe I need to make a burpcloth the size of me so my clothes don’t get spit up on.

Finding hidden treasures in the couch cushions like string cheese, cereal, crackers and my favorite fruit snacks that I think were once in a mouth before being “saved” for later!
January 7th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
My biggest one is trying to keep my daughters toys within reach. She pushes them away while trying to get them!
January 7th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
What do i find annoying? How hard it is to get baby feet into those footies of their PJs after evening bath. Blankets falling from the stroller and getting run over by the stroller. Baby leashes that don’t make you feel bad, more black, red and darker clothing for those of us parents that have 5 daughters and are TIRED of pink.

My daughter is almost 2 and can drink from a sippy cup, a regular cup, or a regular bottle (like you get at a convenience store, bottled water or milk). But no matter what I give her on a car ride, it always ends up on the floor or all over her. She falls asleep or drops it and…ugh!

My nephew is always throwing his chew toys on the floor. I am constantly washing them…while at restaurants.
January 7th, 2009 at 6:02 pm
i wish someone would come up with a solution for stinky diapers in the diaper geanie!! they all claim to not smell but admit it, they all do! ugh!
January 7th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
I really like the concept of the toy that sticks to the table or the highchair tray, but I’d love it if the toy would actually stay stuck! (Same with those bowls that are supposed to stick, but don’t!)
Thanks for the giveaway!

We keep losing socks at the store or around the house. She kicks them off all the time. So now, she goes barefoot most of the time.

I am the grandma who is always searching for the pacifier !
January 7th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
I was just thinking the other day that I needed to find something like this…what a great invention! Socks coming off is a constant battle, as well as my son dropping his pacifier on the floor!
January 7th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
My problem is toddlers kicking their boots off in the van. Especially rubber boots for a Vancouver winter! Then the socks go! I have to re-dress both boys by the time we get to the mall!

My son always “spit” his pacifier out. Also we can never keep the mittons on him.
January 8th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
I find it impossible to lay my granddaughter down for a nap. she sleeps soundly while I hold her but wakes as soon as I lay her down.
January 9th, 2009 at 7:38 pm
Very clever. The problem I have is trying to keep my kids asleep. My kids are very light sleepers and the slightest anything wakes them up.
January 9th, 2009 at 8:22 pm
Little boys have a tendancy to tinkle as soon as their diapers come off! I found peepee-teepees help the problem as long as you can get one on quick enough.

We’ve got sock problems lately too..3 month old.
Batteries in toys or worse yet CAMERA..just about the time I have an adorable picture the camera needs charging!
January 11th, 2009 at 3:42 pm
What a unique baby shower gift this would make! Thanks for the contest!
January 12th, 2009 at 5:38 am
Why can’t anyone invent mittens that will stay on? Or that are long enough so that if they slip off a little, those little wrists don’t get cold and full of snow?
January 12th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
I have learned that gadgets such as remote controls, cell phones, etc tend to “walk away and get lost” whenever there’s a toddler around! I need to make sure everything goes into a place that’s none to easy for a toddler to find!
January 13th, 2009 at 12:15 pm
Keeping his socks on is my biggest problem. I’ve gotta get these! My son is a mover and a kicker. He also loses pacis left and right.
thanks!

Great great idea!!
January 13th, 2009 at 5:14 pm
My problem is with my kids keeping their shoes on, which with the sock ons, at least they would have their socks on still!
January 13th, 2009 at 11:33 pm
Oh gosh, the MOST annoying IS the socks coming off! I always have to have my daughter in those footie p.js, if I don’t the tops of her feet get sooo raw from crawling! These would be sooo nice to win!! Maybe it is a sign?? Thanks!
January 14th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
My sons shoes always come off. Well, seems that one always likes to come up so he will be going around with just one shoe.
January 14th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
The wimpy burp clothes that most stores sell so didn’t cut it with my little guy. I finally started using flat diapers as burp clothesbecause they were big enough and absorbent enough to catch the mess.
January 15th, 2009 at 7:36 am
These things are brilliant. I need something like a paci clip that holds toys - my son drops whatever he’s playing with when something else catches his eye.
Thank you.

The socks are awesome! That is a major problem with us. My son is also a very messy eater, even with a bib, he gets food EVERYWHERE!
